If you are anxious or unsure about taking up a new challenge – have no fear! Whether you want to learn German, French, Spanish or Italian but do not know a single word or whether you have dabbled in the past, lessons with me will go through the basics and teach you what you need for your holiday and beyond, according to your wishes.

Once you have decided on what you wish to learn, lessons are designed to put you at ease, with you setting the pace! I tailor lessons to the needs of the individual, recognising that there is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to learning a language. Topics generally include: eating out and shopping, booking accommodation, asking for directions, travelling by public transport etc..,but these are flexible as you decide what you would like to learn. I can recommend an appropriate textbook for you, but you are not under obligation to buy that one. If you already have materials you are happy with, we can work with those. I also provide many handouts free of charge. Just bring a folder, pen and paper!

How long is a piece of string? It is difficult to answer this question, as everyone learns a new skill at different paces. If you have regular lessons and do some study in between our sessions, you will make progress and maybe your dream to become fluent may come true sooner than you think!

Absolutely! The main thing is the desire to do so. It doesn’t matter if you left school a long time ago, or even if you were not that good at languages then. We will find a learning style that suits you and work at your pace and help you achieve your goals.

No. Some students progress through different levels and have a longer commitment, going from beginners to advanced, whereas others are just happy to learn some basics. Lessons are planned session by session so you can decide whether to continue, or whether you have reached your goal.
